Physical Therapy at AYSDC

Our focus at the Studio is on traditional asana practice, but of course there is more to your physical and spiritual practice.  We are proud to partner with two local resources to flesh out your full potential.

While it’s our hope you are never injured, sometimes checking in with a physical therapist can identify potentially harmful patterns that you may be experiencing. Restore Motion is a full service provider of physical therapy services. Their therapists have a minimum of 8 years of experience and advanced training in osteopathic manual medicine.  

Restore Motion sees clients not only at its Rockville location, but are now offering appointments at the Studio, for the convenience of our students and to emphasize a focus on yoga as part of rehabilitation.

Pranayama Classes

We are pleased to offer regular classes that focus on pranayama, a method of breathing and meditation that is one of the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. We offer these classes on alternate moon days, when regular Mysore classes are not held, and once a month on Sundays.  We hope that you will join us and learn about this important aspect of Ashtanga that can expand the benefits of your practice.

If you are interested in exploring Ashtanga further, there are many resources we can recommend. First and foremost, the K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute is the official site for Ashtanga Yoga, and it contains detailed information on the history and practice of Ashtanga. 

In addition, our area is fortunate to have several studios offering Ashtanga yoga. While we hope you will be able to visit us, when your schedule or location doesn’t fit with ours, we gladly recommend our friends.
